Christian Aid Many thanks to all who have given and/or collected money for Christian Aid. At the time of writing, the special week is still running – financial totals will be given in the next Five Alive. During Christian Aid Week, we were told that 1 in 8 people in the world go to bed hungry but there is enough food for everyone IF we act together. Please write to the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon David Cameron MP, 10 Downing Street, London SW1A 2AA, saying..... It is a scandal that, in our world today, 1 in 8 people go to be hungry. This year you have an opportunity to take action that will help ensure there is enough food for everyone in the world IF aid is spent in the right areas IF people have the land they need to grow food IF companies and governments are transparent in their actions IF governments receive the taxes they are owed We urge you to ensure that these issues are addressed by world leaders at the G8 meeting this June in Northern Ireland and that the UK is the first among the signatories to a new convention on tax transparency agreeing further global action to tackle tax dodging around the world

Atlas Prayer 2013 Heavenly Father, Thank you that You sent Jesus to set the captives free. Thank you that in Christ, we are free. Grant freedom to all Your children around the world who are living under the grip of discrimination, persecution or oppression. Renew their strength as they wait and hope on You. Lift them up on wings like eagles so that they may not grow weary or faint. Show us how we can serve them as Jesus would have done.
